Dear ArtCare Friends and Colleagues:
ArtCare has been monitoring the devastating financial impact of COVID-19 on San Francisco’s artists and arts organizations. The canceling and postponing of performances, workshops, classes, programs and fundraisers, and the closure of museums and other vital cultural and community institutions, as well as the ‘shelter at home’ order is all unprecedented.
We are delighted to share Mayor London Breed’s press release on March 23rd regarding an Arts Relief Program. ArtCare applauds her rapid response to help our vital arts and culture sector and efforts for our city.
As the official Friends of the San Francisco Arts Commission, ArtCare, always asks for your help in supporting our cultural ecosystem, which employs tens of thousands of workers and is one of our city’s most formidable economic engines. Every dollar is meaningful during this difficult period.
If you are wanting to help support the arts, consider making a donation today to your favorite nonprofit arts organizations or reaching out to your favorite artists and see if they need help.
With deep appreciation,
San Francisco ArtCare
